We are hearing a lot more about trauma lately. Trauma is now more widely recognised as contributing to both physical and mental issues as well as a precursor to disease.
“Trauma is when we experience very stressful, frightening or distressing events that are difficult to cope with or out of our control. It could be one incident, or an ongoing event that happens over a long period of time. Most of us will experience an event in our lives that could be considered traumatic.” ~ MIND
When our body and mind relive the same event over and over again, it can indicate trauma. Our bodies hold trauma, just like our mind does.
Flower essences can be of support immediately after trauma has occurred but also when hurt and/or pain has been experienced many years earlier.
Intergenerational trauma is when original traumas are passed onto children and grandchildren. As trauma is held in the body, it can impact future generations through epigenetics.
The essence of Boab is believed to help erase generational trauma and negative family patterns and support you in breaking the cycle.

Some of the positive outcomes include:
- Courage to withstand

- Joy
- Love
Emergency Essence
This blend is useful for shock, trauma, injury and overwhelm. Use as needed during difficult events.
Dog Rose of The Wild Forces Essence
This essence is known as the ‘deer in the headlights” – when you are feeling hysteria and fear. It can help you feel calm, centered and bring you back into emotional balance. You can find this essence in Emergency Essence, Whoopsies, Birthing Support and Tanty Tamer. I can also add it to a personalised essence for you.
Homeopathy for Healing Trauma
Aconite is a great remedy for anything ‘sudden’ – illnesses, symptoms and events that leave you shocked.
Ignatia can be used for shock, grief, hysteria, sadness and acceptance.
Traumeel is a great cream and tablets that support physical injury and trauma but I have seen it used for emotional trauma with wonderful success. It contains Arnica which is good for feeling beaten up and bruised (physically or emotionally) as well as Chamomilla which is very calming and relaxing.
Healing trauma is a multifaceted approach and professional support should be sought where you feel it is necessary.
Support
There are many alternative healing modalities that may provide assistance, from nervous system work to kinesiology, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, meditation, aromatherapy breathwork, EMDR therapy and EFT (tapping).
Also don’t underestimate the basics of wellbeing to support you through trauma also – nutrition and herbal remedies, exercise, good sleep, fresh air and sunshine, time in nature and support from family and friends.
